Walking with Jesus as we look forward to the days, weeks and months ahead in 2026:
REFLECTION - GOSPEL JOHN 1:1-18
The gospel tells us Who Jesus is for us Christians:
We are told; He is the word of God that was made flesh and lived among us. He is the Word of God made visible and we have seen his glory.
He was born not of human stock or urge of the flesh, but of God. He is the only begotten Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.
He gives to those who have accepted him the power to become Children of God; and from His fullness, all of us, have received grace in return for grace.
He is the only Son who is nearest to the Father’s heart who has made known to us the unseen God.
The 2nd Reading Ephesians 1:3-615-18 reaffirmed that in Jesus Christ, God our Father has blessed us with all the spiritual blessings of heaven. God has chosen us in Christ to become holy and blameless, full of love, living constantly in the presence of God, full of grace and the praise of our God.
Hence, our celebration this Sunday invites us to walk constantly with Jesus as we look forward to the days, weeks and months ahead in 2026. We are to rely on God, whose power is working in us, because God is able to do even more than we can ask or imagine. (Eph 3:20).
Let us place in God’s care our hopes and expectations for the year. In times of life uncertainties, let us remember that God is with us in the person of our Lord Jesus Christ and that God’s love is unchanging, God’s blessings are constant, and all things will work for our good and to the greater glory of God, when we trust God. Amen.
